The Brussel Sprout Calender

Ok, so here's the thing. Last New Year's eve we had brussel sprouts for dinner, among other things, the main course was turkey. Then the following picture was taken, of me.
This then triggered the idea of a calender, involving brussel sprouts in somewhat compromising positions. An unknown number of alcohol units later and an informal photo shoot had begun. Now, more than six months later, a six month calender is born. Or, pictures of six different people at least. Whatever.

Btw, I need help deciding on which photo to choose of the guys. There are two of each of them, as you will notice.

Thank you to my wonderful models (from top to bottom) Sigrid, Runar, Linda, Anne Cecilie, Erlend, and Helene.

Lastly, who should be which month? Would be nice if you can give six consecutive months, it would be rather impractical to have holes in our calender.

homemade headband

A smaller project finished this time. A headband that says Myrull. Crocheted in alpacca wool, superwarm, and I especially love the colour!

Window shopping

I've found that a good way to quench my shopping hunger is to do a bit of online Windows shopping (no Mac users here), but it must be from a foreign store. That way I'm appalled by the thought of the final price of the garments considering first adding postage, then a 12% customs fee and then a 25% VAT (moms) regardless of whether the store in question has subtracted the VAT first or not. It's ridiculous but money saving.

Aaaaanyway... Everything below is from Topshop, again.
First some romantic style garments

Followed by my obsession with shirts (and cardigans)

And finally the leftovers which don't really go that well together but let's just call it a mismatch thingy that I totally ment to happen

temptations

Made the mistake of entering Topshop's webshop just a sec ago. Fortunately I have no money therefore nothing was bought. Also, remember that London called? Well, on Sunday to come I'll be flown to London, get my hair cut and coloured, take pictures of it, stay in a hotel in Kensington, and be flown back on Saturday. The hotel has wifi, laptop and camera will be brought and I hope to blog about the whole thang. And there's Topshop in London, which was the point of this whole little story. Hopefully there'll be time for a little bittle shopping.

Aaaanywho... Window shopping results from Topshop.

Today's shopping (oops..)

Some of the things I bougt today were planned purchases. The others, not so much. Ah well, I've had a great day! Met Lena for a coffee at my new favourite café which I will hopefully take and post pics of later. The cappucicno was good, the chit-chat was better. (Note that I'm not putting in a smiley-face here even though the situation would be fitting). Anyway, let's focus on well spent money for now.

Planned purchase: sewing threads in the colours of, hmm, a colour palettte. The box is a Christmas gift from Helene.

 Planned purchase: vacuum bags

Sort of planned purchase: Sportswear from H&M. Good for motivation.

Not planned purchase: camisole, earrings, broche and leggings from BikBok

Also planned purchases: cutting mat, rotary cutter, patchwork ruler and a pair of bedside tables. The tables caused some light disagreement between Manfriend and myself, but more on those and that later ;) Damn, I fell under the curse of the smiley faces afterall.

Miu Miu collar

The Miu Miu spring 2010RTW collection was gorgeous. Cute prints of pussy cats, swallows and naked women (suspicious combination if you ask me...) combined with sequins, fabrics in blue, black, white and red. My favourite piece:
Picture from norwegian Elle 4/10
My point is, anything Miu Miu would be too expensive for me. Therefore, a little DIY project resulted in a couple of collars instead. I rarely end up actually wearing things I've made myself, or partially made myself. But these turned out quite well.

My inner narcissist shining through again

And by the way, I did not come up with this idea myself. Someone else did, don't remember where I saw it. No idea is ever original.

I reject your reality and substitute my own

Yes, mine. The flaunting of newly acquired treasures can begin. Newly meaning this summer which now is at an end. I could smell the fall this morning. I think winter will come early this year. (When winter has still not arrived come December, one might find that last prediction modified to "winter will be late this year, fall will be long".)

Shoes and clothing. Second hand and new (notice that I am not saying vintage. More on that later). The grey tassels are attached to a bag that mostly just goes by the name "elephant pouch" or "elephant scrotum".

Oh, baby! How I love these:

Leopardprint wedges. Light as an empty butterbox. My feet have never before worn high heeled shoes as comfortable as these. (The Manfriend I live with hates them. I have to keep telling him that wearing animalprints does not a russian hooker make.) And they make me six feet tall.

Slight redecoration of living quarters has taken place this summer, changing of cushions on couch. Feeling espescially proud considering I have sewn four of the cushion covers myself. The bottom three ones plus the green one with dots. I suspect that Manfriend might find the cushions a wee bit too feminine.
